Ethiopian Graduates 21 Maintenance Technicians

In the presence of the Rwandan and Madagascar Ambassadors to Ethiopia, Excellencies Mr. Nyirinkindi and Mr. Rakotoaripony respectively, the Multi-National Aviation Training Center of Ethiopian Airlines graduated 21 Aircraft Maintenance Technicians of Three Nationals on April 19, 2007. Among the graduates 13 are foreign nationals; seven Rwandese, six Malagasies while the rest eight are Ethiopians.
The 76th batch of technicians has completed two years training in airframe, power plant and avionics. During their stay at the training center, the trainees have acquired adequate theoretical and practical skills. Coupled with type rating courses, the training will enable them to maintain with ease airframe, engines and components of aircraft. The CEO, Ato Girma Wake, gave out Diplomas to the graduates and prizes to two top ranking trainees for academic excellence and one trainee for good behaviour and governance. The CEO assured the Rwandan and Madagascar Ambassadors that they would see remarkable results in the maintenance capabilities of their demand within the coming 2-3 years with the professional involvement of their new graduates.
The Rwandan Ambassador, H.E Mr. Gaspard Nyirinkindi in his key note speech expressed his gratefulness to Ethiopian Airlines and said, “We shall dearly hold your contributions to enhancing our aviation capacity. ‘’ He also expressed his wishes to witness more of such graduation ceremonies at Ethiopian’s beloved training center. Ato Mesfin Fikru, Director General of Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, Ethiopian EVPs, VPs, Diplomats of the two Embassies and family members of the graduates attended the graduation ceremony. Today’s graduates bring the total number of technicians from the center to 2,236 since its inception of February 1967. Among the total graduates 1,520 are Ethiopians and the rest 716 are foreign nationals from 48 different countries mainly from Africa and the Middle East. Currently, 139 trainees (77 Ethiopians, 38 Rwandese, 14 Malagasies, six Chadian, two Tanzanians, one Nigerian, and one Sudanese) are taking theoretical and practical courses at the center.
