Ethiopian Airlines Achieves IOSA Registration March 28, 2007 - Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Ethiopian Airlines is proud to announce that it has successfully passed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA). The completion of the IOSA registration is a milestone for Ethiopian Airlines, and confirms the airline’s commitment to safety.
The registration is the result of Ethiopian’s fundamental commitment to provide safe and reliable air transport services for passengers and cargo. IOSA is an internationally recognized and accepted evaluation system designed to assess the operational management and control systems of an airline. IOSA uses internationally recognized quality audit principles and is designed so that audits are conducted in a standardized and consistent manner.
Ethiopian is one of the only five Sub-Saharan African carriers that have successfully passed the IOSA audit and qualifying the audit has multiple benefits to Ethiopian Airlines.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian, Ato Girma Wake, welcomed the announcement and said, “The IOSA registration is another indication that Ethiopian Airlines ranks among the world’s best airlines. We see this as the first step in entering into new code share agreements that will further integrate our network into those of the global alliances. Our staff has worked very hard to achieve this milestone, and I offer my sincere thanks for all their efforts.”
